HYROX training program

Wheelhouse is an official HYROX affiliate gym and one of the only HYROX training facilities in Birmingham, AL. Whether you’re new to HYROX or have a few races under your belt, our exclusive 12-WEEK HYROX PROGRAM and high-quality equipment make Wheelhouse the best place to train for your next HYROX competition.

HYROX combines running with functional workout stations, where participants run 1KM, followed by 1 workout station, repeated eight times. Each race is hosted indoors in expansive exhibition halls, where your spectators can support you from start to finish. The HYROX race format remains consistent across the globe, enabling global leaderboards and a cumulative World Championships at the end of each race season. Accommodating both professional athletes, and everyday fitness enthusiasts looking to take their training to the next level, HYROX is a sport for everybody.

 

Powerlifting program

Our Powerlifting Program offers a focused approach to mastering foundational movements like pulling, pushing, pressing, squatting, and hinging. In each class, you'll break down key lifts, refine technique, and progress toward building strength, power, and bone density. We emphasize proper breathing and mechanics to ensure safe, effective training for all fitness levels. Whether you're new to lifting and looking to build a solid foundation or seeking a comprehensive stand-alone program, our coaches will meet you where you are and guide you toward your goals.

 

olympic weightlifting program

Our Olympic Weightlifting Program offers a dynamic and technical approach to lifting, focusing on speed, positioning, mobility, and power. You'll learn and train the Clean, Jerk, and Snatch, along with their variations, while building explosive strength and improving body alignment. This program includes weightlifting exercises, isometrics, and strength techniques tailored to Olympic lifting. Whether you're preparing for your first meet or seeking a supportive team for ongoing competition, our program and team provide expert guidance and support.

 

conditioning program

Each Conditioning session is unique, offering fresh challenges to keep you engaged and progressing. Using body weight, barbells, dumbbells, kettlebells, medballs, and steel maces, these workouts are designed to boost your cardio, strength, endurance, and stamina. With proper scaling and progressions, you'll push your limits, hit your goals, and leave feeling faster, leaner, and more resilient—all while knowing you're valued and respected.

 

open gym access

Class time is for learning and growth—open gym is for extra credit. Life happens, but consistency is key to results. As an open-gym member, you'll have full access to the gym during non-class hours, with morning, afternoon, and evening options available. Whether you're staying after class to refine a skill, focusing on mobility or cardio, or just looking to sweat after work, the space is yours to keep moving and stay motivated.
